Are you using healing as a reason to delay your life? Learn why healing and action aren't opposites — and how to stop waiting to be 'fully healed' before you begin living.

Healing Is Not the Destination —It's the Vehicle

September 16, 2026•4 min read

Healing is not the goal. Living is the goal.

Becoming the person you are meant to be is the goal. Creating the life your soul has been calling you toward is the goal. Taking aligned action in the direction of your deepest purpose, that is the goal.

Healing is what makes all of that possible.

But it is not, and was never meant to be, the destination.

When the Healing Path Becomes a Hiding Place
_________________________________________________________________

I have deep respect for the healing journey. I've lived it. It changed my life in ways I cannot overstate.

But I've also watched — in my own life and in the lives of people I've worked with — the moment the healing path quietly shifts from liberation into avoidance.

It looks like this:

  • One more retreat before I launch the business

  • One more round of therapy before I have the conversation

  • One more healing session before I put myself out there

  • One more integration period before I take the step

The healing feels real. And it is. The work feels important. And it is. But the action keeps getting postponed. And the "when I'm ready" moment never quite arrives.

There is a point beyond which more healing stops being preparation and starts being a way to stay small without admitting that's what you're doing.

The Truth About 'Not Being Ready Yet'
_________________________________________________________________

Here is something I've come to understand deeply, both through my own transformation and through years of working with others:

You will never feel fully ready. And that is not a problem.

Fully healed is not a destination you arrive at before you begin living. It is something you become, gradually, in the process of living.

The woman who launches her purpose work before she feels ready heals in the launching.

The person who has the honest conversation before they feel emotionally prepared heals in the having of it.

The spiritual seeker who takes the next step before all the fear is gone heals in the stepping.

Action is not the reward you get after healing. For many people, action is how the deepest healing happens.

Healing and Action Are Not Opposites
_________________________________________________________________

This is one of the most important things I want you to take from this post:

Healing and action can, and should, happen at the same time.

This is not about skipping the inner work. It's about understanding that the inner work is most powerful when it is paired with forward movement, not held in place of it.

In the Soul-Aligned Purpose Method™, every week includes both. We clear. And we move. We heal. And we act.

Because I've found, again and again, that healing deepens when it's paired with movement. The body learns that change is safe not because we told it so in a meditation, but because we moved in the direction of change, and nothing catastrophic happened, and something good came through.

That lived experience is what updates the nervous system. Not the insight. The experience.

The Question Worth Asking Yourself
_________________________________________________________________

If you've been on the healing path for a while, if you've done the work, accumulated the wisdom, sat with the insights, I want to invite you to ask yourself one honest question:

Am I healing so that I can live more fully? Or am I using healing as a reason not to?

There is no wrong answer. There is only the honest one.

And if the honest answer is the second one, that's not something to be ashamed of. It's information, not indictment. It might mean your nervous system doesn't yet feel safe enough to move. It might mean you need a different kind of support, one that holds both the healing and the action, at the same time.

That's exactly what I'm here for.

One Step Forward
_________________________________________________________________

You don't need to take a giant leap. You don't need to be fully healed. You don't need to have it all figured out.

You just need to take one honest step toward the thing you've been circling.

Write the email. Make the call. Say the thing. Begin the thing.

Let the healing continue as you move, because it will. That's how it works.

You are ready enough. You have always been ready enough. The next right step is right here.
